Interim Dean Dr. Robert McNutt

Dr. Bob McNutt became Interim Dean of the DeGroote School of Business on March 1, 2011.

Bob McNutt grew up in New Brunswick and attended the University of New Brunswick where he earned a bachelor's degree in geology. He then attended MIT where he earned a PhD degree in geochemistry.

Dr. McNutt joined McMaster in 1965, eventually serving as department chair of Geology (now the School of Geography and Earth Sciences) and then from 1989-1995 as Dean of Science. He then went to University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) where he was principal for seven years.

Since his retirement from UTM, Bob has successfully assumed a number of roles at McMaster, including Acting Chair of the Department of Modern Languages & Linguistics, Acting Dean of Humanities, Acting Provost, Special Advisor to the Provost and, now, Interim Dean of the DeGroote School of Business.

Bob McNutt is Executive Director of the Canadian Research Data Centre Network, a Canada-wide network for researchers in social sciences, humanities and health sciences using classified data from Statistics Canada.

Dr. McNutt has had an outstanding 30-year career as both an academic and an administrative leader, and he is very proud to continue his service to McMaster through the DeGroote School of Business.
