Do I have to write a GMAT or GRE test to apply?
Yes, Applications will not be considered without a GMAT/GRE score.

Where can I obtain information about GMAT, GRE & TOEFL test?
GRE and TOEFL tests are administered by Educational Testing Services (ETS). Detailed information can be found on their web site.

How long is a test valid for?
GMAT and GRE scores are good for 5 years from the day they are written. TOEFL tests are valid for 2 years.

I have made an appointment to take the test but would like to submit my preliminary application now and report the test results later.

Can I apply for January admission?
No. Due to the small number of new admissions into our program each year, we require all students to begin the program in September.

How many students do you admit to the program each year?
We hope to admit 3-5 new students into each field of study each year.

Can I attend the program on a part-time basis?
No. All students are required to attend the program on a full-time basis. Students that have completed all coursework, written and defended their Thesis proposal, and collected all data to complete the thesis, may apply to the School of Graduate Studies for part-time status.

I earned my Master’s degree on-line. Does McMaster University accept this?
Yes. We will consider your entire application package in comparison to other applicants when making our final selections.

Do all students receive funding?
Yes, all PhD students at DeGroote are guaranteed a minimum level of funding. This minimum is currently set at $20,000.
