What are SGS 101 & SGS 201?

  • SGS 101 (Academic Research Integrity and Ethics) and SGS 201 (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act – (AODA) Training) are mandatory courses that McMaster’s School of Graduate Studies requires all graduate students (including MBA) to complete in their first month in order to meet degree requirements and graduate.

I have not yet registered or complete these mandatory courses. What do I do?

  • You must register in both SGS 101 and SGS 201 before Friday, September 25
    • Course material will appear in your Avenue to Learn portal with 24 hours of registration and each course will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
  • The deadline to complete both courses is Wednesday, September 30
    • Grades will appear on your student record by the end of term.

Please note: If you have completed these courses through a previous graduate degree at McMaster, you are not required to repeat them.
