The Bensadoun School of Retail Management is excited to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the Retail Innovation Challenge (RIC)! This competition will take place in a hybrid format from October 18 to November 4 with a focus on Sustainability and the Retail Circular Economy.

Phases 1 and 2 will be held online. The third and final phase will be held in person at McGill University in Montréal. Activities will be organized for finalist teams from the evening of November 2 through November 4. There is no fee for the registration of student teams.

Why participate?

  • This challenge presents a unique experiential learning opportunity to mobilize the knowledge and creativity of university students and embolden them to generate actionable solutions to help three local SMEs succeed in the new realities of retail.
  • Prize money! Top overall finalist team wins $10,000 total and there is additional prize money for each finalist team.

We are delighted to announce the SAQ, Société des alcools du Québec (Quebec liquor board), as the title sponsor of this 4th edition. Other sponsors and partners include the Quebec Ministry of the Economy, Innovation and Energy (MEIE), a global consulting company, and the Quebec Retail Council.
