The MCCD reflects our commitment to preparing students for the future of business by fostering collaboration, creativity and a hands-on approach to learning. This innovative space is where DeGroote and McMaster students, faculty, staff and community partners will come together to solve real-world problems and tackle challenges facing society.
The McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery began as an idea – a bold vision for the future of business education.
In 2017, the DeGroote School of Business recognized the need to transform learning and equip students for a rapidly-changing business landscape. The vision was to create a collaborative and interdisciplinary space for students to hone their business and leadership skills. When this idea was shared with Paul McLean, he was inspired to make a meaningful gift to the school.
With this foundational gift from the McLean family and the resounding support of McMaster’s leadership and Board of Governors, this bold vision became a reality as the McLean Centre for Collaborative Discovery.
Learning Hubs in the MCCD are curated spaces for students, faculty, and industry and community partners to collaborate on solutions for the challenges facing the world of business in the 21st century.
Designed and built with an emphasis on collaborative learning and experiential education, these spaces will enable a dynamic, hands-on learning environment, where business principles, new ideas and interdisciplinary perspectives converge—preparing students to not only be agile leaders, but also agents of positive change in a rapidly-evolving world.
