Devastating Attack against a Muslim Canadian Family
It is devastating to hear of the recent act of hate that has taken the lives of four members of a Muslim Canadian family and left the fifth seriously injured in London, Ontario.
We are deeply saddened by the loss experienced by family members, the London community, by Muslims across the country, and especially members of McMaster’s Muslim community of students, faculty, and staff.
Such violent and shocking crimes of hate fly in the face of our humanity and our commitment to human rights that are foundational to our health and strength as a pluralistic society.
We must actively safeguard against the attitudes and conditions that can breed hate, bias, and extremism and stand together against Islamophobia and anti-Muslim racism, along with all other forms of cultural and religious bigotry.
