DeGroote School of Business is pleased to announce a new exchange partnership with The American University in Cairo (AUC) Onsi Sawiris School of Business, creating additional opportunities for students to gain international experience in Egypt.
Founded in 1919, AUC is one of the Middle East and North Africa’s leading English-language universities and has established a strong reputation for academic excellence, research, and global engagement. Located in New Cairo, Egypt, the university provides students with access to one of the region’s most influential economic, political and cultural centres.
The AUC Onsi Sawiris School of Business holds AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditation, often referred to as the “Triple Crown” of business education. Fewer than 1% of business schools worldwide hold all three accreditations, placing AUC among a select group of globally recognized institutions. The school is known for its strengths in entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, finance, marketing, sustainability and responsible business practices.
Beginning in Fall 2026, eligible DeGroote undergraduate and graduate students will have the opportunity to study at AUC for one or two academic terms while earning credit toward their McMaster degree. Students will gain exposure to diverse perspectives, develop intercultural competencies, and experience business in one of the world’s most dynamic and rapidly evolving regions.
This partnership supports DeGroote’s commitment to providing students with global learning opportunities and access to diverse international business environments.
For questions about exchange opportunities, please contact DeGroote Student Services.
Before applying, students are strongly encouraged to consult with their program or academic advisor to confirm that courses completed at AUC will transfer appropriately toward their degree requirements at McMaster.
