What you need to know!

  • Thanks you once again for joining the Student Success Centre this past summer in our meetings with the McCall MacBain Foundation.  We hope you enjoyed the conversation and learned more about how students from your faculty can participate and benefit from this amazing experience.
  • The McCall MacBain International Fellowships (MMIF) have been renewed and applications are now open to recruit fellows for the 2025-2026 academic year.
  • The McCall MacBain International Fellowships aim to enable globally-minded young Canadians to develop strong intercultural competencies and ties to different regions of the world, and to cultivate creativity, resilience, independence, critical thinking and the ability to “stretch” outside of their comfort zones. It is a high-profile award, valued at up to $30,000.

Fellows spend a semester engaged in each of the following: (Link)

  1. language study and volunteering
  2. academic studies at 100% course load and
  3. paid employment

The fellowship is fully-funded by the foundation and is open to students from all faculties up to a maximum of 10 McMaster undergraduate students per year.

The Student Success Centre (SSC) will begin a marketing and communications strategy this month to guide students to information sessions and to the online application.  Additionally, global experience experts from the SSC will be providing consultation and advising for students interested in pursuing the opportunity in terms of application review, interview preparation and pre-departure activities for successful fellows. Based on our conversations this summer, we would welcome any assistance that you can provide to share and re-share details about this amazing opportunity as we aim to increase participation from all faculties and departments.

We will be tagging your offices on social media and will share marketing assets soon.
