You don’t need to be registered in a co-op program to gain direct experience through your graduate studies!
Mitacs helps graduate students and postdoctoral researchers by connecting universities with external organizations to fund research and solve real-world problems. Through their programs, you’ll be able to broaden your professional network, tap into funding opportunities, and gain invaluable hands-on experience at for-profit and not-for-profit partner organizations seeking highly skilled research talent.
Join Ryan Caldwell, senior advisor, Business Development for Mitacs at the McMaster Industry Liaison Office (MILO), as he walks us through the different programs available to graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. He will give us advice and insights on how to pitch an idea, obtain a partner, or sign on to an existing opportunity. Mitacs has a number of different programs that have been recently updated and support opportunities across all disciplines including Social Sciences and Humanities as well as STEM.
