MBA-COOP
Class of 2022
Business, University of Mumbai (Commerce)
The most surprising thing about DeGroote was the tight-knit community. It was so easy reaching out to seniors in the program for any kind of guidance whether it be about selecting subjects, tips on networking, and job hunt.

I was drawn to the idea of three separate co-op terms. The opportunity to explore different industries and roles to help narrow in on what I wanted to pursue after graduation. DeGroote also has a supportive and well connected alumni network which was a great place to meet mentors and industry professionals from different walks of life.
After completing my Bachelors, I worked for 3 years as a Talent Acquisition Specialist in the Tech industry. I could sense the gap between my theoretical and practical knowledge when it came to business problems and decided that MBA was the perfect way to bridge the two. The Co-Op program was the perfect fit. Not only could I explore different roles, but also work on real world problems and get a holistic experience.
The most surprising thing about DeGroote was the tight-knit community. It was so easy reaching out to seniors in the program for any kind of guidance whether it be about selecting subjects, tips on networking, and job hunt. The fact that every student in their own way is an ambassador of DeGroote and went above and beyond to help, made transitioning into the program effortless.
Connect with the alumni early on and definitely focus on networking from Day 1. DeGroote is a great community and I urge you to take advantage of all available tools to be successful.
It would definitely be MBA games. DeGroote has been winning consecutively for the past three years and the fact that we were able to host MBA Games 2020 at our campus was a definite highlight. The perks of Volunteering were many, but for me it was getting the chance to interact with students from other business schools.
I am a huge book nerd, so if you’re ever looking for suggestions on what to read next feel free to hit me up!
