Why DeGroote?

DeGroote is well recognized for its MBA program, a program that has proven to help students prepare for their future career goals through education and experiential learning. In addition to its focus on academics, DeGroote’s unique sense of community was also a significant factor in my decision to apply to this school.

Why an MBA?

It has always been a dream of mine to pursue a MBA. Throughout my education journey, I knew that a MBA degree would be a necessary step in achieving both my personal and professional goals. With a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a post-grad as a Research Analyst (RAPP), I knew I had a solid business background, and sought to further develop my skills to enter and thrive within the finance industry.

What surprised you about DeGroote?

A pleasant surprise was DeGroote’s tight-knit community that is so warm and welcoming right from the start. The faculty is supportive throughout your journey, and your classmates quickly become a key part of your learning and networking experience.

What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?

Take the time to do your research and familiarize yourself with the MBA Ambassadors and the DeGroote team, and never hesitate to reach out with any school or career-related questions you may have!

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?

One of my highlights was our final first year course, the Integrated Project. Each group was given the opportunity to work directly with a real client on a current issue that the company was facing. It gave us the chance to apply our knowledge to a real-life situation, particularly our communication skills, which came in handy when speaking with and presenting to our professors and the clients. My group collaborated effectively and worked hard throughout this three-week process. In the end, our client was very pleased with our presentation and decided to proceed with our idea, making us the winning team!
