Why an MBA?
After working as a Software Engineer in an IT firm, I realized that the long-term career prospects depend on more than just the technical know-how. To pivot my career into Product Management and to understand the big picture of a Technology firm, I decided to pursue MBA. My focus is to understand how technology and business come together to achieve the vision of the company.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
The emphasis given to a co-op experience surprised me as I knew industry experience enhances our business domain knowledge. Also, the extensive and supportive alumni network that is always willing to help and share insights is a great culture that DeGroote has cultivated.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
There is no linear path to Management via MBA. Be willing to learn, network, and implement your ideas whenever an opportunity knocks your door.
What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
Peer learning in DeGroote has been a great experience. The curriculum demands you to work together in teams to achieve a common goal. The case study approach challenges you to wear different hats and learn the essence of a successful business strategy.
Aside from being a MBA Student Ambassador, what other extra-curricular activities have you been involved with while at DeGroote?

A thrill-seeker! I’ve traveled to the World’s Highest Motor-able road in the Himalayas.
