Dr. Iris (Jin) Wang is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University. Her research examines how cultural, institutional, and organizational factors shape labor market outcomes and corporate decision-making. She focuses on issues related to compensation inequality, immigrant integration, cultural norms, and firm-level dynamics, using large-scale administrative data. Her recent projects explore topics such as proxy advisory quality, the cultural origins of gender gaps and pay inequality, and the economic consequences of geopolitical conflict within firms. Dr. Wang’s work has been presented at leading conferences and is supported by multiple research grants. At McMaster, she teaches courses in financial technology and corporate finance.
