Starting Fall 2025, McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business will offer PhD Seminar Series every Friday from 12:00 to 1:30 pm on campus. This series aims to enhance PhD students’ skills and knowledge by featuring guest speakers, student presentations and workshops focused on research communication, professional development and community building.
The seminar series will include skill-building workshops such as advice from senior PhD students, introductions to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI), research methods webinars, faculty panels on publishing, and sessions on applying skills in industry. Students in their third year and beyond will have opportunities to practice dissertation proposals, conference presentations and job talks.
