Nicole Rakowski, a PhD Candidate in Health Policy and Management, is one of the featured speakers at the upcoming Inspiring from Within Employee Development Conference.

The annual conference is designed to foster professional growth, networking, and well-being among McMaster employees. Through a series of workshops and discussions, attendees will explore strategies to enhance both their careers and personal lives.

Rakowski’s session, “Pause to Thrive: Building Resiliency and Overcoming Challenges,” will focus on practical strategies to help attendees navigate life’s challenges by pausing, reflecting, and building resilience. In today’s fast-paced world, resilience is essential for maintaining mental and emotional well-being. The session will cover topics such as:

  • Understanding Resiliency: What it means to be resilient and why it’s essential for personal and professional growth
  • Mindfulness and Stress Management: Techniques to stay present and manage stress effectively
  • Developing a Growth Mindset: Embracing challenges as opportunities for growth and learning
  • Building a Support Network: The importance of community and relationships in overcoming obstacles
  • Self-Care Practices: Simple, everyday practices to nurture your well-being and build resilience

The PhD team is excited about this opportunity to hear from Nicole Rakowski and develop a resilient mindset that will help us thrive.
