Meet the Faculty: Management Science with Dr. Gorgulu
Join us for a 45-minute virtual Lunch & Learn webinar featuring Dr. Berk Gorgulu, Assistant Professor of Operations Management at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University.
Dr. Gorgulu will share insights into his research on data-driven optimization with applications in health care and public operations. His work focuses on building realistic models and developing predictive and prescriptive analytics to support decision-making under uncertainty, using methods such as stochastic modeling, queueing theory, interpretable machine learning and Markov decision processes. He collaborates with healthcare practitioners on problems with real-world impact, including patient flow optimization. He is available to supervise PhD students in Operations Management.
The session will conclude with an open Q&A, a great opportunity for prospective PhD candidates to learn more about research opportunities, the doctoral program at DeGroote and what it’s like to work with Dr. Gorgulu.
Who should attend: Prospective PhD applicants interested in health care operations, data-driven decision-making, stochastic modeling, queueing theory, predictive/prescriptive analytics and related areas in Operations Management.
