Why an MBA?
With an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, I needed to elevate my business knowledge to help reach the career level I aspire to. DeGroote has helped me fill that knowledge gap while giving me tools to develop as a leader and build additional confidence in my strategic management abilities.
What surprised you about DeGroote?
DeGroote’s ability to pivot and adapt to the changing environment during the pandemic was very impressive. Just as Professors update their course with current issues and best practices, they adopted new ways to keep students engaged in the virtual environment. We received a similar learning experience to in-person classes with the added value of navigating in a virtual business environment.

What has been the highlight of your DeGroote experience so far?
As an MBA student, your ability to solve business cases is critical during your time at school and when transitioning into the workforce. I had the opportunity to compete in two case competitions my first year! My team and I put in hard work and ended up finishing first in one competition and second in the other. Working together to create viable solutions to real-world business challenges was a great experience. Additionally, the case competition gave me the opportunity to network with the CEO of the company I interned with the following summer.
Aside from being an MBA Student Ambassador, what other extra-curricular activities have you been involved with while at DeGroote?
Tell us one fun fact about you!
I am a triathlete! Currently, I am training for the half Ironman distance triathlon and look forward to racing Barrelman Niagara in September 2021.
