Why DeGroote?
I chose DeGroote for its strong blend of academic rigor, leadership opportunities, and supportive community. The program offers a perfect balance of strategic thinking and real-world application, with initiatives like GRIT Week, industry projects, and access to a tight-knit alumni network. As an international student, I also appreciated how inclusive and welcoming the environment was from day one.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
Come with an open mind and a willingness to get involved beyond the classroom. The MBA journey at DeGroote is shaped just as much by your extracurricular experiences, networking, and peer learning as it is by academics. Say yes to opportunities early—whether it’s a case competition, a student leadership role, or a consulting project. They all add immense value to your personal and professional growth.
Extra Curricular Involvement at DeGroote MBA
I currently serve as the International Experience Director for the MBA Association and as a DeGroote Student Ambassador. I’ve also participated in GRIT Week, working on consulting projects with the McMaster Nuclear Research Facility and a youth-focused NGO. These experiences have helped me develop leadership, strategy, and communication skills while making a meaningful impact on the community and building lifelong connections.
