Why DeGroote?
I chose DeGroote because of its reputation, good academics, and welcoming environment. As an international student, it was important for me to find a place where I felt supported, and DeGroote is that place. People are welcoming, the culture encourages growth, and the environment gives a good mix of city and outdoor life. It just felt like the right institution to learn, grow, and build meaningful connections.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
My biggest advice is to do your research. Check out the courses and see if they match what you want to pursue in your career. It is also a good idea to start learning how to network, LinkedIn is a great place to connect with current students, alumni, and even future classmates. For international students, it really helps to get a feel for the local weather and lifestyle. Canada can be a big change, so knowing what to expect can make things a lot easier. Building a support system and staying in touch with your loved ones can make a huge difference. Overall, keep an open mind and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there, DeGroote has a lot to offer both in terms of academic and extracurricular activities, but it’s up to you to make the most of it.
