A professional corporate director since 2009, Jane Peverett has served on numerous corporate boards in the energy, financial services, transportation, utility and media industries in Canada and the U.S. She has chaired two boards, four Audit Committees and two Governance committees. Ms. Peverett currently serves on the boards of Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited, Northwest Natural Gas, Suncor Energy and Capital Power Corporation. She also serves as Chair of the Canadian Standards Association. Previous corporate boards include Encana, CIBC, Postmedia, HydroOne, BC Ferries and AEGIS Insurance. Jane has also served on the boards of numerous association and not-for-profit boards, including The Stratford Festival, The Canadian Gas Association, Junior Achievement and the United Way.
Ms. Peverett has over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, primarily in the utility space. In 2009, she retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of the British Columbia Transmission Corporation (BCTC), prior to that having served as BCTC’s Chief Financial Officer. Before joining BCTC, Ms. Peverett held progressively more senior finance and regulatory affairs roles at Westcoast Energy Inc., until her appointment in 2001 as President and Chief Executive Officer of Union Gas Limited.
Ms. Peverett holds a bachelor of commerce from McMaster University, a master of business administration from Queen’s University and is a Certified Management Accountant. She is a Fellow of the Society of Management Accountants and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
