Mandeep Malik is an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Marketing at the DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, where he has served since 2000. In his current role, he teaches a full complement of undergraduate and graduate courses while also carrying significant administrative leadership responsibilities. Over more than two decades at DeGroote, he has demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching, curriculum development, and academic leadership. His courses span Marketing Management, Sales Management, and Consultative Selling, and he is widely recognized for blending academic rigor with deep industry engagement. Throughout his academic career, he has been a pioneer in experiential learning and pedagogical innovation. He founded and scaled several high-impact initiatives, including the Canadian Marketing League (Canada’s Next Top Ad Exec), MARS Apprentice, MARS Forum, Elite Seat, High School Business Heroes, Synergy Summer Program and U-Turn—programs that integrate industry mentorship, case-based learning, and community engagement. He has also led major curriculum development efforts, including undergraduate and MBA courses in Consultative Selling, designing a new degree Integrated Business and Humanities program, and technology-enabled sales simulations. His contributions extend internationally through curriculum design projects in Canada, Australia, Egypt, and North America-wide online learning platforms. His excellence in teaching has been recognized with numerous honours. He is a multiple-time nominee and winner of the McMaster Student Union Teaching Award and has received the McMaster University President’s Award of Excellence for Instruction and the Provincial LIFT Award for Faculty Leadership. In 2022, he received the DeGroote School of Business Award for Community-Engaged Teaching and Practice. He was awarded the IMPACT Fellowship for Pedagogical Research which further acknowledged his leadership in advancing teaching and learning across the university. Beyond the classroom, he has served extensively in academic governance and industry advisory roles. He has contributed to key university committees, including curriculum redesign, equity and human rights selection, and strategic planning initiatives. Externally, he has advised organizations such as the Canadian Marketing Association, PepsiCo Canada, and Mohawk College’s Business Advisory Council. A prolific contributor to professional discourse, he has authored columns in Canadian, Australian, and Indian publications and has produced widely viewed digital content supporting marketing graduates and alumni.
