Why DeGroote?
As someone new to Canada, I was looking for more than just a strong academic program. I needed a place that could help me adapt, grow, and build real experience in a new environment. DeGroote stood out because of its co-op MBA structure, which meant I’d gain a full year of hands-on work experience in Canada while completing my degree. That opportunity was especially important to me as an international student trying to navigate a new culture and career landscape. Beyond that, I found the community at DeGroote warm and approachable. It’s the kind of place where people make time for you, whether it’s faculty, staff, or classmates. That supportive environment played a big role in helping me feel more settled and confident in my decision.
What piece of advice would you give to anyone considering doing their MBA at DeGroote?
If you’re considering DeGroote for your MBA, come ready to challenge yourself. The program is intensive and academically rigorous, but that’s also part of what makes it worthwhile. As an international student, I knew I’d need to adapt quickly, and the co-op structure gave me a real edge with one year of Canadian work experience built into the journey. But what helped was knowing I wasn’t doing it alone. DeGroote has support systems at every turn, approachable professors, staff who listen, and classmates who look out for one another. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, it’s there, and it makes all the difference.
