The Capital Markets Student Mentorship Program is a voluntary initiative that creates opportunity for select students from traditionally under-represented groups pursuing careers in Capital Markets with an improved understanding of the industry, opportunities to build networks, and professional development support.
If you identify as a 1st or 2nd year undergraduate student from one or more groups traditionally under-represented in financial services, including people of colour (including members of the Black Community), Indigenous people (i.e., First Nations, Métis or Inuit Peoples), persons with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and/or women, the Capital Markets Student Mentorship Program will give you the opportunity to accelerate your career development through:
- Gaining industry knowledge and leadership skills through monthly learning sessions .
- Learning directly from leaders of the various areas of Capital Markets to gain a broader industry view of Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets.
- Building your professional network through virtual and in-person VIP events.
- Improving resume, networking and interview skills.
- Securing a guaranteed interview for future summer CIBC Capital Markets opportunities!

- This is not a paid position, but an opportunity to be mentored toward reaching your short and long-term career goals.
- The Mentoring Program will run from November 2025 – April 2026 and will require approximately 1-3 hours of your time each month.
- You have not previously received an offer for a CIBC Capital Markets student position.
