Discover Effective Altruism with EA McMaster’s Introductory Fellowship this Fall! Explore vital topics like existential risk reduction (nuclear, biological, AI threats), global health efficacy, animal welfare and EA epistemics through their comprehensive 8-week program.
What is Effective Altruism?
A philosophy using evidence-based reasoning to identify the most impactful ways to address global challenges. It’s about making decisions that truly matter, leveraging our time, resources and abilities to maximize positive change.
Over two decades, EAs have achieved remarkable results: saved 150,000 lives from malaria globally, freed 100 million farmed chickens from battery cages, inspired companies helping unbanked Senegalese save $200 million annually, and brought together top AI researchers on advanced AI dangers—including founding Anthropic, which created Claude.
This fellowship offers engaging peer-led discussions and carefully curated readings from September 21 to November 16. Collaborate with like-minded individuals, exploring concepts that drive meaningful change and learning to make more informed, impactful choices.
