The Operations Management Club is excited to launch a new series called OPS LEADERS TIPS, where they spotlight DeGroote alumni who are making an impact in the world of operations! Each week, they’ll feature a different leader sharing practical advice, career insights and lessons learned from the field.
This week, they’re proud to feature Julie Poirier, who is a DeGroote MBA ’20 alum and is currently a Customer Facing Technology Analyst at Intelcom. Julie shares this valuable tip: “Be open to go on the floor of the operations often, and if possible, do the job for one day! You’ll learn so much and building relationships with every level of the company will be so beneficial to launch your projects!”
Her insight highlights the importance of hands-on learning and cross-functional collaboration in driving operational success. Julie’s advice is a great reminder that leadership starts with understanding the day-to-day realities of your team.
