The 2025 Essay Competition | May 22

The Magna Charta Observatory is pleased to invite your institution to the launch webinar of the 2025 essay competition!

The competition, open to students from all universities worldwide, aims to encourage reflection on how universities can better engage with stakeholders to improve access to higher education and enhance the student learning experience. Winning students will be awarded funded travel and participation in one of two prestigious conferences: the Magna Charta Observatory Conference in London or the World Access to Higher Education Conference in South Africa.

During the webinar:

• The official theme and guidelines of the 2025 competition will be announced
• Hellena Leão, the 2024 winner from Brazil, will share her experience
• Key speakers including Peter Kwasi Kodjie, Secretary General of the All-Africa Students Union, and David Lock, Secretary General of the Magna Charta Observatory, will present the initiative and respond to questions
• It is a valuable activity that reflects the Observatory’s commitment to strengthening fundamental values in higher education through student engagement
