Why did you decide to pursue your MBA?
First, I wanted to unlock opportunities. Secondly, beyond just opportunities, I don’t have a business background and what I found was that it was very hard to speak the same language as my colleagues. I asked myself, how can I level up?
How has this program impacted your career?
Simply put, the MBA has made me a well-rounded confident business professional. Learning about different concepts, from finance to strategy and marketing, has provided me with more confidence as a Product Manager and I get to apply those skills everyday creating new financial products and delivering expectational client experiences.
What was your favourite aspect about your experience at DeGroote?
My favourite aspect of the DeGroote experience was the engagement with my classmates. From mock negotiations to hanging out after a hard day’s work at a local restaurant to decompress; loved every minute of it!
What surprised you about your experience at DeGroote?
I was really surprised by the diversity in my MBA cohort; diversity in all forms, gender, race, undergraduate experience, business owners, parents. My learning experience was greatly elevated as a result of this as I was forced to look at things from multiple perspectives.
What would you tell anyone considering taking this program?
Just do it! There will never be a perfect time for anything in your life. This is a rare program that has flexibility built in it. The program has consolidated all of the important learning of an MBA program into an easy delivery method!
