Get to Know Tej Sandhu
Get to know Tej Sandhu, a DeGroote BCom alumnus. Instilled with a passion for entrepreneurship at a young age by his grandparents, Sandhu has built several businesses, his first one at age 16. After graduating from DeGroote and trying various roles before returning to his entrepreneurial roots with MERIT Brewing.
At MERIT, Tej has the opportunity to work with all aspects of the business, which helps him navigate challenges and triumphs as a cohesive team. “We are a group of young, ambitious friends and while all of us have experience in each of the areas that we specialize in on a day-to-day basis, what we’re creating at MERIT as a whole is much bigger and much different than what any of us have worked on individually,” says Tej.
Tej shares future plans for MERIT, weaving it into the fabric of the City of Hamilton, as well as advice for future entrepreneurs.
I think if that goal is rooted in a purpose, again, for yourself and for your customers, then it’s a lot easier to get through a lot of the challenges that exist, specifically in that first year. — Tej Sandhu
