This month we’re turning our attention to Generative AI in research.
This year it seems like every software application we use is building in AI tools, and new AI tools are popping up every week. These apps advertise the ability to make you more productive, more efficient, and even smarter. But is that really the case? We know that alongside the monetary costs, there are environmental, societal, and data privacy concerns. Given the costs, is there a place for Generative AI in research?
Around the table this month:
Dr. Meena Andiappan, Associate Professor of Human Resources and Management
Dr. Shane Saunderson, Assistant Professor of Information Systems
Dr. Stephanie Verkoeyen, Special Advisor, Generative AI at McMaster University
Dr. Michael Welland, Associate Professor of Engineering Physics
